The purpose of StuCo is to plan and carry out functions and projects to maintain and improve the student body's standards and the school's facilities as well as contribute services to the greater Jos community.
The Council consists of the president, the vice president, the secretary and the treasurer. Officers are elected from the junior and senior classes while each class elects two representatives. StuCo currently has two advisors from the high school faculty.
Officers and class representatives are elected for one year and may be re-elected. Elections are for the following school year, but handover occurs before the school year ends so that plans can be made for the next year’s activities. Elections are held during the second semester of the school year. Candidates are nominated before running and must be in good academic standing. Officer candidates have opportunity to present speeches before elections take place.
